Factors that Determine the Cost of Surgery at USA Spine Care
The average cost of surgery at USA Spine Care is influenced by the following:
- The procedure or procedures performed. One of the benefits of our outpatient procedures is that they reduce hospital-associated costs^ and provide a streamlined experience for our patients. However, different procedures will be billed to your insurance depending on the complexity involved and the specific condition being treated.
- Your individual insurance coverage. Before undergoing a procedure, we will work to calculate an amount that is due at the time of surgery. Average upfront costs may range from $1,000 to $15,000, but they can be more or less depending on your specific coverage.
- Our contract with insurance providers. USA Spine Care works with most major insurance providers, but we are not in network at a contracted rate with all of them. We are always trying to negotiate the best possible reimbursements for our procedures to reduce our patients’ out-of-pocket costs.
- The amount paid by the provider after the claim is submitted. After surgery is performed and all services have been rendered, we submit a claim to the insurance company. If an insurance company determines that a patient’s responsibility is greater than the amount paid prior to surgery, USA Spine Care will be directed to issue a statement to the patient for the difference.
